AVETMISS Error – Student is not flagged for AVETMISS, how do I fix this?

A student should be flagged for AVETMISS otherwise it won’t appear in AVETMISS data submission. To fix this error, please follow the steps below:

Step 1 – Go to TEAMS > Student > General > Student Entry screen.

Step 2 – Open the student for which you want to fix the error. To do this enter the students name or student number in the field next to the GO button and then select Enter on your keyboard or the GO button to search and find the student.

Step 3 – On the Details tab, tick the AVETMISS check box. When you tick this checkbox, AVETMISS tab will be highlighted. Update the relevant information on this tab i.e. States, Country of birth, Language spoken at home and Address. Try to update as much information you have received from student’s application.

Step 4 – Save the screen by clicking on the Save Entry button on the top left hand side.

AVETMISS Error – Student has no DOB (Date of Birth)

How to fix this?

A student’s date of birth is mandatory for both National AVETMISS data submissions and for some State data submissions. To edit and fix the date of birth for a student please follow the steps below:

Step 1 – Go to TEAMS > Student > General > Student Entry screen.


Step 2 – Open the student for which you want to fix the error. To do this enter the students name or student number in the field next beside GO button and then press Enter key from your keyboard or the GO button to search and find the student.

Step 3 – Once the student is opened, on the Details tab, enter the Date of Birth of the student in the below-highlighted field.


Step 4 – Save the screen by clicking on the Save button.


In this way, AVETMISS error for No DOB will be removed.

How to fix this?

A student’s gender is mandatory for both National AVETMISS data submissions and for some State data submissions. To edit and fix the gender of a student please follow the steps below:

Step 1 – Go to TEAMS > Student > General > Student Entry screen.


Step 2 – Open the student for which you want to fix the error. To do this enter the student’s name or student number in the field next beside the GO button and then press Enter key from your keyboard or the GO button to search and find the student.

Step 3 – Once the student is opened, on the Details tab, select the gender of the student.


Step 4 – Save the screen by clicking on the Save button.


In this way, AVETMISS error for No Gender will be removed.

This article describes how to fix AVETMISS Error – Qualification flag is ‘Y’ and ‘Course Commencing ID’ is 8/Module enrolment only.

Before You Start

This AVETMISS error appears if ‘Completed Qual’ for an enrolment is selected as FULL in the enrolment centre when ‘Competency Enrolment’ tick box is ticked in the Edit AVETMISS screen.

How To Fix Error

To fix this error, you need to select the ‘Completed Qual’ as SOA for a Module Only or Competency Only enrolment i.e. an enrolment for which ‘Competency Enrolment’ tick box is ticked.

AVETMISS Error – Qualification flag is ‘Y’ and ‘Year issued’ is empty

Before You Start

This AVETMISS error appears if the ‘Completed Qual’ flag has been selected as FULL in the enrolment centre but the Year Issued flag is exported as @@@@ i.e. enrolment has not been flagged as FINISHED in TEAMS.

How To Fix Error

To fix this error, you need to make sure that the enrolment should be flagged as FINISHED if Completed Qual is selected as FULL.
