National – NAT00030 File

About this NAT File

This file is all about your list of Qualifications and/or Courses and their AVETEMISS settings. There are important rules you need to know about this file that include:

a) You cannot have the same course/qualification code in this file more than once.
b) The program code & name in this file MUST match what is listed on training.gov.au

With regards to this rule above, this means that if you have course/qualification codes and names in a similar fashion to below:

SIT40407-PTCertificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) PT

Then you MUST make sure for each one of these that in the Course/Qualification screen that you have entered a Descriptive Code and Descriptive name that is the formal code and name as listed on the training.gov.au site

It is recommended that you copy the Descriptive Code and Descriptive Name also to the AVETMISS Course Code and AVETMISS Course Name field and by default the system will use these fields for AVETMISS exports. If you haven’t done
this then it will then use Descriptive Code and Descriptive Name fields next. If they are not there then the system has NO choice but to use the Code and Name fields and you will absolutely receive errors if this is the case as you haven’t followed the rules.

Also, do not show Descriptive names like this Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) SIT40407 as this is not how it is listed on the training.gov.au site and you will also receive errors.

For the National settings for:

  • Recognition Status
  • Qualification Category
  • Qualification field of Education
  • Occupation Type
  • VET

We have updated your TEAMS site with the National level settings listed above, where we could. It is your responsibility to confirm that all your courses/qualifications have national settings and if they don’t contact the support staff who can try and assist you but if they were not updated there would be a reason why we couldn’t update them and it means they can only guide you as to where to find the information.
