Changes introduce – USI Exemption Reporting

This article describes how to use the new USI values, what the business rules are for it and how to access Prospect and Student Entry Screen.

Before You Start

Three new USI values i.e. INDIV, SHORT and INTOFF have been released by the USI department as a part of USI Exemption Reporting.

Change Introduced

INDIV’ can be entered in the ‘Unique Student Identifier’ field on the Prospect and Student Entry Screen. Once this wording is mentioned, the system will not allow a user to press the ‘Create USI’ or ‘Verify USI’ buttons. Upon AVETMISS Export generation, the NAT files will also print ‘INDIV’ in the Unique Student Identifier field.

Things To Note

  • The system will automatically print ‘SHORT’ in NAT files in Unique Student Identifier field. The system only prints SHORT in the Unique Student Identifier field in NAT file if an enrolment is flagged as a ‘Competency Enrolment’ in the Edit AVETMISS screen.

  • The system will automatically print ‘INTOFF’ in NAT files in Unique Student Identifier field. The system only prints INTOFF in the Unique Student Identifier field in NAT file if a student is an Overseas Offshore Student. Also, the postcode for such student is OSPC in the NAT files.
